Don’t Fear The Reaper

Providers are prepared for many things when we walk out of EMT or Paramedic class. We can bandage, we can ventilate, we can give life saving medications and even intubate. But school doesn’t prepare us to stare face to face with the Reaper of Death. EMT’s and Paramedics are grossly underprepared for the trials of death notifications in the field and that is where our episode starts today. A great fan of the show asked us to shed some light on this topic and discuss our best methods and ideas for tackling such a stressful skill. We are joined with Mike (NYS EMT, NYS CIC), Emily Yates (NYS EMT, ER-RN), Kelsey (NYS EMT), Gerard (NYS AEMT-P).
